What Happened at the 2019 US Open Tennis?

Rafael Nadal and Bianca Andreescu won the 2019 U.S. Open. Nadal defeated Daniil Medvedev in the men's singles final after Andreescu defeated Serena Williams in the women's singles championship.
Osaka defeated Serena Williams in the most controversial final in the recent final to win the 2018 U.S. Open Women's Singles Championship. Williams seemed to have lost nerves and was punished for three violations of the code, which cost her one point, then lost another game, and the Osaka team defeated the opponent with a winning streak. Interestingly, Osaka was the 20th seed at the start of the game, and Williams was the 17th seed in the game.

Among the top 16 players, only last year's champion Sloane Stephens, the eighth-place Karolina Pliskova, and Madison Keys entered the eighth place. Williams sent Priskova home in the quarterfinals, Anastasia Sevastatova defeated Stephens, and Carla Suarez Navarro and Lesia Tesulenko were the other two quarter-finalists.

In the men's singles match, Djokovic won two consecutive Grand Slams. He defeated the third seed, Juan Martin del Potro, in three consecutive games in the final. Last year, Djokovic did not perform well in the first game of the U.S. Open, when he was added to four in the first two rounds against Marton Fucovic and Tennys Sandgren. However, since then, he has only been stretched to even a tiebreaker once-in the final.

The top seed Rafael Nadal reached the semifinals and had to withdraw from the game against del Potro after falling behind in two sets. Djokovic defeated Kei Nishikori in the other semifinal. In the fourth round, Australia's John Millman lost the first set and lost to Roger Federer for the second time in four sets.

Djokovic will enter the game after having won two Grand Slam titles this year, winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon respectively, and reaching the final of the French Open. Whereas Nadal another Grand Slam championship at Roland Garros.

Women's Grand Slam titles have been won by different women. Osaka won the Australian Open, Ashley Barty won the French Open, and Simone Halep won the Wimbledon championship.
