ATP & WTA jointly declare to suspend more events

After the cancellation of the Wimbledon Championship 2020 tennis tournament ATP and WTA jointly declared to suspend more tours until 13 July 2020 because of continuous coronavirus outbreak.

Furthermore, with the Wimbledon other suspended tours of ATP & WTA like‘s-Hertogenbosch, Stuttgart, London-Queen’s, Halle, Mallorca, Eastbourne, Nottingham, Birmingham, Berlin, Eastbourne, and Bad Homburg.

The postponement will apply at all levels of the professional game, such as the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF World Tennis Tour. At this point, events scheduled for 13 July 2020 will continue to schedule according to the published schedule.

ATP and WTA are well-know of the significance and liability and priority of the wellbeing and security of the tennis community and overall population, whereas assessing the possibility of resuming the tours.

ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi said, unfortunately, due to the continuous worldwide coronavirus outbreak, we don’t have any option, so we decide to suspend the tour. The decision was made with the collaboration of our members and other tennis associations. The health and security is our main concern as we face the difficulties in these unprecedented times. We will do our utmost to ensure that the tour is resumed as soon as possible once it is certain.

WTA Chairman and CEO Steve Simon Said, WTA and its members didn’t take it lightly as their main concern is to protect and secure their players, employee and fan's health. Whereas, we are regret to announce the other tournaments suspension of the year. Our main concern to help each other during this remarkable time and work all together in an arrangement of our arrival to play.
