Venus Williams vs Schiavone

17th seeded Schiavone has now the chance to advance into the quarter finals of the Australian Open for the first time in her career but only is she manages to defeat Venus Williams, the sixth seed this year. It will be a hard task for the italian which still has now win against Venus in the five matches they played togheter.

Wozniacki vs Na Li
This will be an interesting match: even though Caroline is the fourth seed and the favourite of the match, Na Li managed to defeat her just weeks ago at the Medibank Open. Both players reached the fourth round twice at the Open but never the quarter finals.

Serena Williams vs Samantha Stosur
The only remaining Australian player in the women’s competition will face the no 1 seed Serena Williams. They met only three times and Serena won twice. It is hard to belive that Stosur can defeat Serena but with the help of the crowds she can put some pressure on the american player.

Zvonareva vs Azarenka
The two players never lost a set in this edition but they played so far only unseeded players. Zvonareva reached the semifinals last year while Azarenka only the fourth round. The head-to-head meetings are led by Zvonareva who won all four matches they played togheter.
